Industrial wastewater treatment systems

Industrial waste water purification plantsMunicipal and industrial wastewater treatment systems (WTP) are designed for the municipal sphere (bigger municipalities and towns, their parts, urban agglomerations, recreational facilities of bigger size, hotels, amusement parks etc.) or for industrial businesses of various kinds (fitted with cleaning stages as required by particular industrial companies).

Industrial waste water purification plantsThis category is made up of systems having cleaning capacity of above 200 equivalent inhabitants or systems having specific chemical and substance loads. WTPs comprise a technological line with a biological reactor performing mechanical pre-cleaning.

Biological reactor makes sure that organic agents and nitrogen are removed from waste water. If necessary or in case that stricter requirements on purified water are identified, technological line may be equipped with simultaneous phosphorus coagulation and tertiary treatment systems etc.

WTP tanks have partition walls representing single technological areas. Technological systems are installed in the tanks on the WTP installation points. WTP tanks are located partially or completely below the ground.

Industrial waste water purification plantsWTP coverings include steel grids, plastic coverings or concrete plates with inspection entrances. Bigger tanks are fitted with steel surface - treated service bridges located above the tanks. WDTs may be located in a roofed or roofless areas. WTP layout provides specifications on the locations of pressurized air source and electric switchboard.

Technological line is normally composed of:
• Mechanical pre-cleaning
Mechanical pre-cleaning involves cleaning by means of rakes (coarse rakes, soft rakes or basket type trashrack) or pumping station with crush devices. Mechanical pre-cleaning may be complemented by sand and gravel traps if required.

• Biological treatment
Biological treatment includes a biological reactor as the central element to this kind of treatment having denitrification and nitrification systems. Nitrification segment contains aerating system while air source is produced by blower aggregates located in the blower rooms. Denitrifying is achieved by the process of internal recirculation of an activation mixture between the both nitrification and denitrification components. While removing phosphorus, WTP is equipped with a phosphorus coagulator feeder. It is possible to furnish bigger – sized WTPs with sludge regeneration feature to reduce the necessary activation volume and to enhance sedimentary properties of sludge without reducing the treatment efficiency. Purified water is separated from a mix of active sludge in a separating tank. Separation procedure may become a part of the biological reactor procedures. Purified water is discharged through grooves and hydrometric device into the outlet. External recirculation makes the sedimented active sludge to be pumped back to the biological WTP component.

• Tertiary treatment
In case that stricter requirements on purified water are identified, it is advisable to install tertiary treatment system behind the WTP biological reactor. In general, tertiary treatment includes the use of ground filters, root water treatment systems or independent tertiary treatment devices. Tertiary treatment procedures make use of microfiltration, sand filtration or filter pad filtration. In addition, purified water may be disinfected, biologically stabilized with chlorine or UV radiation (with automatic control).

• Sludge management
Sludge management is performed either by means of a sludge box (with at least a 100 day capacity) or of a mobile dewatering device. Excess sludge (aerobically stabilized in the biological reactor) is made thicker and stored in the sludge box. It is also possible to dewater stabilized sludge in the mobile dewatering system and to further use it in the agriculture. Another option is to transport sludge to the dumping site or to give it additional treatment.

• Measurement and regulation
Waste water purification plants are furnished with automatic control with minimum human interventions into the cleaning process. Automatic control system controls the operation of the whole device as well as its single segments depending on the waste water volume. The process of regulation involves a control and assessment unit controlling the operation of individual machine and technological units based on the data received from the ultrasound and oxic sensors and other devices installed in the treatment line. If feeding any coagulants to eliminate phosphorus, chlorine or other agents, it is possible to automatize the feeding process.
The whole system may be computerized to achieve higher reliability, to monitor and make the cleaning process more transparent and last but not least to make the service more efficient. VH TECH company provides the customers with a possibility to lease the automatic control system for an agreed period of time (unless this system is the subject of delivery). Thus, the customers will have a chance to see by themselves financial benefits of the system and decide whether or not to purchase it.

Advantages of WTPs supplied by VH TECH company:
• high cleaning efficiency
• technology assuring operation at lower pH, sludge regeneration while suppressing creation of fiber sludge and enhancing the treatment stability
• pumping station located in front of the WTP balances hydraulic hammering at the WTP inflow point
• processes of measurement and regulation provide for automatic WTP operation, lower operation costs (lower power consumption, wear of machine and technological components, less demand for human work and chemical agents)
• sludge in a stabilized state (may be used in agriculture)
• low operation costs and minimum service,
• long life (use of corrosion - free materials and quality devices)
• stage - like construction – waste water purification plant may be constructed by stages respecting the customer’s economic capability while assuring completeness and functionality of each stage,
• our company can provide for the waste water purification plant operation, if required.
